The precursor:
Concrete Udyog traces its origin to early 1980s wherein it was established as a partnership firm. Around 1979, UP State Electricity Board had called for tenders to set up factories in different parts of the state. The promoters grabbed this opportunity at a time when there were not more than two or three units catering to the demand of the entire State of Uttar Pradesh. Besides, the rural electrification and irrigation energisation agendas in Central Government’s 20 point programme were an added advantage in the circumstances. Foreseeing the increasing demand and favorable location, a humble start was made at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh as a Small Scale Unit. It was the first unit to come into production in the Industrial area of Jhansi. Not only was it a well-connected location to its neighboring states but also facilitated easy procurement of good quality raw materials.

Expanding Horizon: (1980-2007)
The unit was initially set up with the object of manufacturing P.C.C. Poles at the Jhansi Plant. Once the new unit attained specialization in its preliminary item, it gradually stepped into manufacturing of R.C.C. Pipes in 1982. Now, it has gone on to become one of the leading suppliers in the State of Uttar Pradesh.

In the recent past, in pursuit of becoming the competitive leaders in pre-stressed cement products, the firm began production of P.S.C. Pipes. Since then, it has established credentials in undertaking several projects for the water supply departments of the Government.

In an effort to spread its wings to different geographical directions, another plant was set up by the company in early 2007 at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh for the manufacture of P.C.C. Poles. This was the first effort by the entity to disintegrate its concentrated location.

Corporatisation:
Concrete Udyog has demonstrated its vast capabilities to grow beyond one dimension through its able management. However, it recognized the fact that a partnership structure, after a certain level becomes a hindrance to growth. Therefore, the need arose to change its legal form from a partnership concern to a corporate entity. Henceforth, its CONCRETE UDYOG LTD.

CUL, Today:
With its consistent work and good progress, it can be said that since inception, the company has made significant contribution to the Electricity and irrigation departments to propel economic growth. Initially, its supplies were limited to the electricity boards.

Today, Concrete Udyog Ltd., along with its sister-concerns, caters to a wide part of North India in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. A right beginning and planned direction has made it an upcoming key player in the said Industry. The company is well acknowledged for its timely supply, competitive pricing and endurable quality.
